MediaGuardian: Sigh. "Dear said complaints about the corporation's wish to boost its local online activity "did not make sense", because the BBC was not competing for advertising…. He added that newspaper campaigns against the BBC were driven by "commercial self-interest". Umm… yes… spot the contradiction, Jeremy?

Comment is free readers launch and (over)fund an autheist bus advertisment campaign, as a counterpoint to religious ads on London buses. I could take or leave the message, but the online fundraising element – thanks to a viral storm on the web, it was over its £10k target within hours – really surprised me. Even with Obama heading for the White House, funded by millions of similarly donated dollars. Is it too obvious to say: this is the start of something really rather subversive?
