Don’t much like BMWs or, too often, their drivers, but their new ad has jolly good music that may already be familiar…

Welcome to Neil McIntosh's old blog. I'm the London-based deputy editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe. This is my personal site, currently dormant and here for reasons of nostalgia only. As a consequence, it may not be a reflection of my current views, let alone my employer's.

The descending figure at the start is pure Beethoven 9th – but after that? I dunno ….
It’s a classy mix isn’t it, using I think among other things, reworked fragments from the finale of Beethoven’s 7th. Symphony (which has been called “the apotheosis of the dance”). Appropriate perhaps……………
I love the ad.
Def Number 9 – but a remix of the second movement.
Yes i agree it is quite a remix and also think Beethoven is the man with the talent in that tune. Tried on the BMW web page but couldnt find it, might have to call them up. IF anyone knows the title of the tune please paste it. I thing the add is for a BMW Z4 M series sports car.
Love the ad too
