Andy Dickinson rounds up UK newspapers’ online video efforts. He’s more impressed by the regionals than the nationals, it seems.
“For the most part, things are pretty static. Those who have invested in some kind of online video have generally invested in buying it in.”
No reference to our GU experiments from late last year, like Dan and Gary’s most excellent US Midterms roadtrip… maybe he just couldn’t find it?

Andy thought this on Jan 08 07 at 11:46 amHi Neil
The Midterms roadtrip was suggested in a comment and I did mention I had seen it - it’s very good. I also mentioned I liked the Three gorge dam piece as well.
I suppose in my head, if not on screen, I was putting multimedia to one side to look at discrete uses of video. That’s not to do down the multimedia stuff. Combining text, audio, video and images in one package is the best way to work the medium hardest and I recognise the Guardian as worked hard in this area.
Your right though. It would be nicer if it had a bit more of a profile on the site.
