If posting here could be any more sporadic, it will become so over the next week… I’m on holiday, as you’ll see on Flickr. I might be tempted to update more often if the Hilton’s broadband weren’t so breathtakingly expensive - 29 euros a day sets some kind of new record for me, although I’m sure someone’s paid more. And I am paying, so who’s the sucker?

I was stunned in the UK recently at a) the alomost total absence (at least obvious) of wifi, free or otherwise and b) the disgustingly abusive tariffs and conditions I found when I eventually found a wifi spot.

I live in, what’s commonly called, the bloody third world. I can, if you really would like me to, real off the addresses of at least 20 FREE wifi spots within minutes of my third bloody world gaff.

I don’t know if the UK situation is representative of Europe but it’s a complete joke. And then I read somewhere about the Guardian organising a new media conference in a hall with no free wifi and even more exorbitant costs than Jackie mentions above. Sorry, to go off on one, but honestly.

Have a lovely holiday.
