- New world, new life
Euan Semple writes probably my favourite blog post of the year so far. Maybe one of the top five ever
Good luck to him in his new professional life.
- The NUJ debate rumbles on, slowly
The arrival of the NUJ’s monthly magazine, Journalist, has sparked further debate on the union’s widely ridiculed “Witness Contributor code of conduct”. The magazine reprints the code in full there, alongside a report from the Mediaguardian debate at which the thing was launched. Unfortunately, that debate did not appear to inform the document.

- Keeping things civil
I’m writing in the paper today about keeping weblog comments civil.
- My Flickr foodblog
In homage to the Google foodblog I thought I’d set up my own office foodblog. Enjoy.

Here’s an incendiary post from US designer Andy Rutledge, who argues forcefully that the success of sites including eBay, Google and Boing Boing is not down to their design, but rather in spite of it.
“Those who say that poorly designed websites are partly responsible for some companies’ success are feeding you a load of crap. [...]
- The Victoria line is funked
Dorian Lynskey’s attempt to chart the branches of 100 years of music using the underground map is an act of twisted, random genius.
Madly ambitious, and with an explanation promptly stuck on our Culture Vulture blog, the arguments about what should have been included and what not, and how it all interlinks, could well take [...]
