Keith Stuart hits the nail on the head over on our Gamesblog. Namely: in a serious development for bank balances the geek world over, it’s turning into a very good year for consumer electronics. Which gadgets to go for?
My list wouldn’t be quite as games-centric as Keith’s, but it’s still quite long, growing, and already ruinously expensive. I know it’s crappy and materialistic and all the rest, but the arrival of the iPod nano last night - Bobbie caught me drooling over his sample earlier today - really puts the gadget cat among the budgetary pigeons*.
There was already the Sony PSP. And, having caught sight of Hammersley’s Canon digital SLR yesterday (something like this only, I suspect, better) there’s a big huge camera to think of too.
And then there’s the obvious thing that the iPod nano clearly leaves the classic “big” iPod with nowhere to go - which makes it as sure as a sure thing that Apple will launch their video iPod later this year. Then there’ll be that.
Decisions, decisions.
